Brushing with braces on
This is very important for your health, it affects your social life, quality of food and nutrition intake, and overall well-being.
- Good oral hygiene not only gives us confidence but also makes us comfortable. To achieve it, you need to take care of your teeth. One of the ways to clean your teeth is to brush them using the right brush; however, there are some areas that are hard to reach. Using a toothbrush might not help in achieving optimal oral hygiene, you need to clean your teeth using extra cleaning tools, like compact tuft, and interdental gel among others.
- You do not have to remove your braces to clean your teeth; you can do it and still reach all the areas. Get a floss threader and use it to clean the areas between your teeth. A floss threader makes flossing with braces easier. When you get to spaces that are very tight use soft picks. Once you are done with brushing and flossing rinse the mouth properly using mouthwash or fluoride. This helps in preventing cavities.
- It is recommended to clean your teeth, at least twice a day, ensuring that the spaces between the teeth and properly cleaned. When it comes to flossing hygienists recommend it to be done at least once per day. This will ensure that there are no food particles that are left in between your teeth, a sure way to prevent cavities. When done with flossing swoosh the water properly and spit it out; this will remove any particle that may have escaped a floss threader.
- A water jet is also an option to clean debris and flush it away from your teeth and around braces that is to be used with flossing and brushing not alone.
